Help save Medicaid and other critical safety net programs for PA children and families!
Call or Email Senators Casey and Specter today and urge them to extend FMAP funding!
Last year, Congress passed temporary funding to states to help them pay for increased Medicaid expenditures. Unless Congress extends this ARRA FMAP assistance, Pennsylvania and Pennsylvanians will suffer!
The Medicaid program is one of the largest state expenditures, and with the continuing recession and stagnant state revenues, Pennsylvania is set on a course for fiscal disaster without an expanded FMAP. Countless children and families will lose vital health and welfare services, and the state, already facing very tough budgetary decisions, will have a much harder time making ends meet.
We have a small window of time now to save Medicaid and get FMAP assistance extended. This may be our last chance to get it passed. Please call now! Here’s what we need you to do:
The US Senate is considering an enhanced FMAP extension beyond its December 2010 expiration date. Please call Senators Casey and Specter by Monday and urge them to advocate for the extension – tell them:
“Children and families must maintain their health insurance coverage, but their continued eligibility is in serious jeopardy when the ARRA FMAP assistance is set to expire this December. During this recession, Pennsylvania relied on the enhanced FMAP assistance to cover its Medicaid costs and support many other vital safety net programs. I urge you to extend the enhanced FMAP assistance beyond its current December 2010 expiration date and maintain the state’s commitment to cover all kids and prevent the state from fiscal disaster”.
