100 days without a budget - but you can act TODAY!
The threat of this painful budget impasse extending past Day 100 depends on action being taken TODAY. We need a budget NOW. Please contact your legislators and ask them to commit to ending this stalemate TODAY! (Monday, Oct. 5)
The leadership Conference Committee is scheduled to meet today at 12 noon. We need its members to come out of it with a resolution that can be supported by enough legislators to pass. Otherwise, the impasse could continue for weeks.
We urge you to let your legislators know you support the House revenue bill that replaces the tax on arts and small games of chance with a tax on cigars and smokeless tobacco (some with child-friendly packaging. PA remains the only state in the nation that doesn’t tax this!) and natural gas drilling. End this impasse today.
In an effort to keep our friends and colleagues up-to-date on what’s going on with children and families in our region, PCCY will, from time to time, issue an E-Alert on an issue that we need YOU to take action on!
We will: provide you with the information on the issues
We need YOU to: take the action step(s) that are listed
We hope that you will join us in helping to protect the lives and life chances of children and families in our region by doing something TODAY to help protect their tomorrows. However, if you would like to be removed from the e-mail list and receive no further updates, please send an e-mail to info@pccy.org.
